Key Findings from the 2023 Data Download the DocumentThe summary below presents the key findings for 2019–2023. These were years of considerable change, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the transition out of the pandemic, and, in the final quarter of 2023, the events of October 7 and the ongoing war, with their wide-ranging effects.
The data presented for 2023 cover the entire year. It is reasonable to assume that the substantial impact of these events on health and the use of health services is diluted when the full year is considered, and that the magnitude of the changes presented would have been greater had the analysis focused only on the final quarter of 2023. -

Selected Findings for 2023 Download the PresentationThe National Program for Quality Indicators for Community Medicine publishes data each year that allows for the examination of compliance with quality indicators in a particular year, as well as the assessment of gaps by gender, age, socioeconomic status, and region. Following the events of October 7th, and the Iron Swords War, starting in 2023, the production of the program's indicators includes the Western Negev cluster as a separate region. The rates by residential district can be seen on the maps' publications page or in the annual presentation. In the near future, we will publish a Health Disparities Report for 2022-2023, which will examine changes in rates of performance on the measures over time, gaps by population group (Arab, Haredi, and other), and for the first time, a regional analysis including separate figures for the Gaza Envelope.

Annual Report for 2017–2021 Report SummaryThis annual report presents data from the National Program for Quality Indicators in Community Healthcare for the years 2017–2021. The current report is unique in that it covers the years during which the COVID-19 pandemic emerged.
The report includes the years 2017–2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic; 2020, which was characterized by intermittent lockdowns and major changes in the daily lives of the population in Israel; and 2021, which began with a partial lockdown but included a significant return to routine following the arrival of vaccines in Israel, alongside three waves of COVID-19 infection. During these two years, the healthcare system faced new challenges.
This report enables a national assessment of changes in quality indicators during the management of the pandemic, as well as the extent to which the situation in Israel returned to its pre-pandemic state—and, in some cases, improved compared with the pre-pandemic period.
The report also highlights the emergence of new disparities that should be monitored and taken into consideration when planning community healthcare services. -
Annual Report for 2020 Report SummaryThe year 2020 was overshadowed by the global COVID-19 pandemic, which left its mark on many areas of life, particularly on healthcare systems, which stood at the forefront of the response to the rising burden of illness.
Periods of lockdown and social distancing, the allocation of medical resources in hospitals and the community to the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19, the high burden of illness imposed by the pandemic on the healthcare system, deliberate efforts to reduce elective healthcare services (at least during the early stages of the pandemic), restrictions on movement and reduced public transportation, concerns about infection among both patients and healthcare staff, and the economic hardship associated with the pandemic—all of these factors were expected to lead to a significant decline in the use of healthcare services beyond those related to COVID-19. -
