Diabetes Mellitus

Influenza vaccination in individuals with diabetes mellitus (aged 18 years or older)

counter:

Individuals in the denominator who received the seasonal influenza vaccination.

denominator:

Diabetic patients aged 18 and over.

Patients with chronic diseases of all ages, including those with diabetes, are at a higher risk for influenza and its complications compared to healthy individuals. Diabetic patients have a 2 to 4 times higher risk of influenza-related mortality than the general healthy population. Additionally, diabetic patients are more likely to contract influenza during seasonal outbreaks. The Ministry of Health recommends annual influenza vaccination for the entire population, but its importance is especially high among patients with chronic conditions, including those with diabetes (1).

Note: The measurement period is from September 1 of the measurement year until February 28 of the following year, overlapping with the influenza vaccination season.
